Team Brick Alberta
Team Brick Alberta was selected in March after players from all over Alberta were chosen from an extensive tryout process. 2016 Team Brick’s coaching staff is lead by Steve Serdachny, Dan Serdachny, Travis Toomey, Ian Gordon with Tracy Martin managing the team. Team Brick preparation began immediately after the selection process was complete and has been an exceptional experience for the coaching staff and players. The team has played and participated in tournaments hosted in Toronto, California and Winnipeg prior to the tournament. We look forward to competing and participating in the world’s best super novice tournament. We welcome all teams to the City of Edmonton and the 27th annual Brick Invitational Tournament. We also would like to thank Bill Comrie, Craig Styles, Andy Wigston and all The Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament organizing committee. BC Junior Canucks
The BC Junior Canucks are honored to be part of a great life experience for these 9/10yrs hockey players from BC. We have representation from Naniamo to Victoria, from Greater Vancouver to West Kelowna. We pull from various Spring AAA Programs to form BC’s finest. We would like to thank Craig Reed, Craig Styles, Andy Wigston, Dion Dragich and the countless volunteers of the greatest minor hockey expeience in North America.
TEAM SASKATCHEWAN JUNIOR PATS
Team Saskatchewan returns to the 27th Annual Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament (BIHT) under new ownership and management. Queen City Sports & Entertainment Group (QCSEG) through the Regina Pats acquired the rights to select the Saskatchewan BIHT team over the winter. The organization is looking to return to the final and avenge last year’s loss. Team Saskatchewan wants to wish every competitor the best of luck during the tournament and thanks the organizers and volunteers for their commitment to this year’s tournament.
TORONTO PRO HOCKEY
Pro Hockey is proud to be a part of the 2016 The Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament. The Pro Hockey Toronto Brick Team is made up of some of the very best 2006 born hockey players from all over Ontario including Ottawa, Orangeville, Clarington, Quinte, Whitby and the Greater Toronto Area. Final selections were made at the end of March and since then they have been playing and practicing as a team. We will have played 3 spring tournaments leading up to The Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament, losing in the a shootout in the semifinals of the Bauer Invitational and winning gold in the Warrior Elite. On behalf of Pro Hockey Toronto Brick Team we would like to wish all the teams the best of luck and thank The Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament Committee for all their hard work and dedication.
MONTREAL ICE STORM
The Montreal Ice Storm Brick Team is eagerly looking forward to competing in the 2016 Brick Tournament in Edmonton. This year’s team was selected after extensive scouting, and very competitive tryouts held in Montreal and Trois Rivières. The team won its first preBrick tournament in May, and has been working hard to be ready for the Brick tournament. The coaching staff feels that the 2016 team will compete hard in the tournament and be full measure for the competition it will face in Edmonton. The Montreal Ice Storm is proud
to represent Quebec at the Brick Tournament, and extends a big “MERCI” to The Brick, Craig, Andy and all of the sponsors and volunteers who contribute to making this tournament the world class experience that it is, and one that the players and parents will remember for many years to come. Team California returns to Edmonton for it’s 27th consecutive summer to compete against the best hockey programs in North America. TEAM MINNESOTA
Team Minnesota is proud to present the 2016 Team Minnesota Hockey Club. Team Minnesota has attracted the best and most talented nine and ten year old players within Minnesota’s boundaries. The Team Minnesota staff has worked tirelessly over the last 12 months to find the right caliber of players to meet the talent expectations of playing in the prestigious Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament. Team Minnesota looks forward to competing against the best ’06s in North America. BOSTON JUNIOR BRUINS
The Junior Bruins are proud to represent greater Boston and eastern New England at the Brick tournament. We would like to thank Mr. Bill Comrie, Mr. Craig Styles, Mr. Andy Wigston, all the Brick staff members and volunteers for the opportunity to participate in the best youth hockey tournament in the world. The team will play in the Bauer Spring Shootout in Toronto, the Boston Showdown and the Icebreaker tournaments prior to heading to Edmonton. The roster includes players from Massachusetts (15), New Hampshire (1) and New Brunswick (1). We are excited to be back at the Brick and look forward to a great week of hockey! Go B’s!
DETROIT JUNIOR RED WINGS
Detroit Jr. Red Wings Little Caesars, the parent organization of the Detroit Jr. Red Wings, has supported AAA hockey since 1968, the year the LC AAA program was founded. The organization remains one of the most respected and competitive amateur hockey organizations in North America. Currently, over 50 Little Caesars AAA alumni are playing, or have played, in the NHL. Hundreds of others have established collegiate and or pro hockey careers. It is from this foundation that this year’s Detroit Jr. Red Wings Brick Team is built. The 2016 team is mainly composed of players from Southeastern Michigan, but we have welcomed three imports – two from Ontario and one from Indiana. We would like to thank our sponsor, Little Caesars Amateur Sports, for providing us with this exciting and special opportunity. WINNIPEG JUNIOR JETS
The Winnipeg Junior Jets Hockey Team is comprised of the best 10 year old hockey players, the majority of whom live in the Province of Manitoba. This year’s management starts with Head Coach Steve Christie, followed by Assistant Coaches Tyler Dittmer, Andy Zulyniak, and Kip Workman. This years roster is Merrek Arpin, Jonas Woo, Alex Thompson, Morgan Smith, Campbell Epp, Gavin Hodnett, Clarke Caswell, Brooks Siemens, Cole Slobodian, Carter Bear, Preston Weiss, BJ Ricarddi, Josh Fluker, Dru Mushumanski, & Jackson Kostiuk. These players were carefully selected to represent Manitoba at the prestigious The Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament in Edmonton. CHICAGO JUNIOR BLACKHAWKS
Over Christmas break the tryout process began for the Chicago Jr. Blackhawks with over 100 players trying out for the team. On February 12, 2016 the final 68 players were invited to the home of the NHL team the Madhouse on Madison’s United Center for a final team tryout. Along with practicing various times throughout the spring/summer the team will also compete in the STX Chi Town Shuffle as well as the North American Hockey Classic in Winnipeg before going to the Brick Tournament in Edmonton. We would like to welcome all other teams and we look forward to great friendships and competition at the Brick 2016.
TEAM PENNSYLVANIA
Team Pennsylvania 2006 was selected in March 2016. Each player went through an extensive identification and evaluation process which began in September 2015. The final roster was determined at a selection camp in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The team spent the spring competing in two preBrick Tournaments: the Top Tier in May 2016 and the CCHA North American Spring Showcase in June 2016, along with a series of practices in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Penn State University and Harrisburg. We would like to thank our sponsors the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers for providing us with this unique opportunity. In addition, we would like to thank Bill Comrie, Craig Styles, Andy Wigston, The Brick Tournament committee and all the volunteers for their hospitality and generosity. CONNECTICUT JUNIOR RANGERS
In March of 2014, in an effort to build upon their 25 year history, the Connecticut Yankees partnered with the New York Rangers to start a new chapter as the CT Junior Rangers Elite AAA Hockey Club. The 2016 edition of the CT JR Rangers, also know as CJR, was chosen in March after several months of competitive tryouts. Being the last charter from the United States to win the Brick Tournament, we have set the bar high for our young athletes and they are cherishing the opportunity to compete for another championship. CJR would like to thank the Brick Hockey Committee for their continued support and inclusion of the organization in this prestigious tournament. Our players come from some of the top Elite AAA Youth Hockey organizations on the East Coast. CJR is focused both on fielding the best team possible to represent the region and on player development. The team has been practicing and training throughout the spring along with participating in some of the top preBrick tournaments.
The opportunity to play in the best youth hockey tournament in the world has both motivated and excited the players. The players are looking forward to participating in the Brick tournament and taking part in a once in a lifetime experience in Edmonton. The Toronto Bulldogs Hockey Club is very excited to send this year, another very talented group of 10 year olds from across Ontario to the Annual Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament. The players are looking forward to the challenges of playing in such a prestigious event and are very enthusiastic for the opportunity. These young players are hoping to continue the success of all the teams of the past and are excited to be playing at West Edmonton Mall Arena.
